The Pudong riverside is where central Shanghai keeps its newest green space: Shanghai Expo Culture Park, about 2 km² on the former Expo 2010 C-zone site, with the artificial Twin Hills at its heart. This is the part of Shanghai where the skyline is best seen from a hill — even a 48 m one. Around the hills run flat, family-friendly paths: the Central Lake loop, the Eleven-Arch Bridge, the Music Forest amphitheatre lawn, the Expo Garden lawns and the Houtan riverfront, plus the preserved Expo pavilions and ticketed gardens. Two metro lines (13 at Expo Avenue, 7 at Houtan) and six car parks make the whole area easy to reach, and the loop-and-stroll character suits short outings, sunsets, and photographers as much as serious walkers.
